Our hair is the fastest growing tissue in our body at an average of half an inch per month or 6 inches per year. Factors such as length retention, hair damage, and breakage or conditions such as alopecia may affect hair growth.
Although there are no magic products to make hair grow faster overnight, there are things that you can do to have a healthy, lustrous, flowing hair:
START FROM THE ROOTS
Massage the scalp to facilitate increased blood flow and ensure adequate oxygen supply at the root of your hair.
This will stimulate the hair follicles to increase the growth of hair. Try using essential oils to massage hair scalp and provide hair nourishment.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR SCALP
One tip to make the hair grow faster is to take good care from where it begins, the scalp. Treat the scalp with healthy ingredients to produce beautiful, bouncy and shiny hair. Avoid products with sulfate that could strip the hair’s natural oil.
According to Lucinda Ellery, a world renowned hair loss expert, “It is important to clean the scalp from all the impurities so that you will have an ideal environment for hair growth.”
AVOID USING TOO MUCH HEAT
Ironing really makes frizzy hair lie flat and smooth, but frequent use of this method can have a harmful effect on our hair. Overuse of heat causes breakage in hair protein bonds causing irreparable damage. Blow drying can also yield this damaging result in the long run.
So to make your hair grow faster and healthier don’t over dry your hair. It is also wise to use a heat protector before styling the hair.
COMB OR BRUSH HAIR GENTLY.
No one wants a tangled hair, but make sure you don’t damage your hair in the process. Make your hair grow faster and stronger by being gentle to your hair.
Rough handling will cause hair stress and damage. For long hair and thick hair, divide the hair into sections before combing and start from the tips of the hair going upward.
EAT HEALTHY.
What you eat and drink affects your whole body. A diet with inadequate iron and protein can cause hair loss and damage.
Proteins are the building blocks of hair and iron facilitates proper oxygen supply to your hair. Make your hair grow faster by having a balanced diet, and consuming protein and iron rich food such as lean meat, eggs, legumes, nuts, and seeds.
Aside from these tips, don’t forget to pay attention to your overall health such as having exercise, plenty of rest, quit smoking and alcohol and healthy diet as well.
