What is an absessed tooth?

An abscessed tooth is a painful infection at the root of a tooth. It’s most commonly caused by severe tooth decay. Other causes of tooth abscess are trauma to the tooth, such as when it is broken or chipped, and gingivitis or gum disease.

Bacteria can enter an abscessed tooth and spread infection to the bone that supports the tooth. If not treated on time, this will be life-threatening. The pain caused by abscessed tooth is unbearable.

Peppermint Oil – take some oil on your fingertips and massage it gently on the infected area. Instant relief will be felt for tooth pain.

Garlic – Garlic is a proven bacteria killer. It’s raw juice from crushed garlic helps eliminate the infection.

Salt – I often try this when I have sore throat, as it is a quick pain reliever. Just mix a small amount of salt in a glass of water and gargle it. Pain will be experienced caused by the salt, but after some time there will be relief.

Apple Cider Vinegar – One of the highly effective home remedies for abscessed tooth.  Simply take a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. Keep it in your mouth for a few minutes and then spit it out. Never swallow it. Apple Cider Vinegar disinfects the affected tooth. Inflammation will be decreased.

Antibiotics – Although this needs a prescription from your doctor, some antibiotics can cure absessed tooth. Both Paracetamol and Ibuprofen can alleviate the pain.

If none of these work, see your doctor immediately.
