Some are patient, while the others are jumpy and impatient. They conducted a research, and the findings were: type A personality have a higher risk of heart disease and high blood pressure.
Persons with type A personality are competitive and self-critical.
But they don’t feel the sense of happiness in their efforts. Everything has a deadline for them, so they tend to multi-task even on their relaxation.
They are also easily angered and have a tendency to be hostile. Are you this type of person?
Here are some alternative meditation techniques to help change your behavior:
ALTERNATIVE MEDITATION#1: LISTEN TO MUSIC
You may think that hearing the music is enough. Nope. When you meditate, you choose a calming music. You choose a calm surrounding. Close your eyes and feel the relaxing sensation. This meditation technique can calm your nerves. You tend to forget your stressors for a while. You focus on your sense of hearing and get soaked on harmony, and melody.
ALTERNATIVE MEDITATION #2: DO HOUSEHOLD CHORES
Are you so busy and you try to multitask on your house? Do you feel like you have finished everything without knowing how you’ve done all those tasks? You’ve finished everything but you don’t feel a sense of accomplishment. So next time, try to do household chores one at a time. When you laundry, pour out your hostile thoughts while washing the clothes. When you sweep, feel how grateful you are. When you vacuum the floor, appreciate how dust is wiped away.
ALTERNATIVE MEDITATION # 3: DANCE AND LAUGH TO DRIVE ANGER AWAY
If you’re always violent when angry, then you have to project that anger in a positive way. Help yourself. Whenever you’re angry, visualize the STOP sign on your head. Go to your room and turn on an upbeat music. Dance until you sweat and your anger have melted away. Watch a funny video and laugh until you are too tired to be angry.
ALTERNATIVE MEDITATION # 4: PRACTICE YOGA
Constant exposure to stress will stimulate the negativity within you. So try a little bit of stretching every day. Do this on a regular basis even for a few minutes. It will help calm your nerves, relieve muscle pain and back aches brought about by physical and mental stress.
ALTERNATIVE MEDITATION # 5: LEARN SOME ART
Painting, sketching, sculpting, or making something helps you to relax. You don’t have to be stressed learning to do the techniques. Relaxing and creating is your goal. And when you are able to finish something, take a time to appreciate and not criticize it.
Finally, you have to do these meditation techniques on a regular basis. Being a type A personality, it is not easy to get away from negative behaviors. So you have to be cautious on how you behave and remember these methods anytime you feel like blurting your anger out.
