Beautiful flawless skin is a gift, but not all is fortunate to have it. There are factors such as age, stressors, pollutants, and chemicals that hinder our quest for glowing skin.
So here are some face and skin care routine that you should give a try:
Cleanse gently and regularly.
Every day, our skin is exposed to different pollutants, chemicals; make-ups that can clog your pores if left overnight. Make it a routine to clean you face and body with a gentle soap to give your skin a time to breathe and relax after a long day.
After cleansing or taking a bath, make it a routine to pat the skin dry. Rubbing the vigorously after a shower can damage the skin’s surface and can cause irritation.
Excessive cleansing and rubbing of the skin can strip off the skin’s natural oil. Your face and skin care routine should include applying moisturizers to bring back the skin’s smoothness and make it more supple. Take into consideration the type of skin that you have. If you have a dry skin, use facial creams; for normal skin, use serum based moisturizers; for oily or acne prone skin, use gel-based moisturizers.
Apply sun protection.
The sun’s harmful rays damage the skin and contribute to premature aging. So never go out under the sun without applying for any protection. You can also use an umbrella or long-sleeved clothing to protect your skin.
Exfoliation is a vital face and skin care routine but it should be done cautiously. Any exfoliant cleanser, toner or cream should be tested first to see if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Exfoliation should be done properly once or twice a week to facilitate gradual removal of dead skin cells to reveal younger looking skin.
Being properly hydrated is one of the keys to maintaining soft and supple skin. Drink at least 8 glasses of fresh water or fresh fruit juices. Refrain from artificial drinks that are loaded with sugar and chemicals such as sodas. Sodas and other artificial drinks not just harm the skin but affect the whole body as well.
In addition to this routine, you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, enough exercise, and ample rest; you also have to handle everyday stress through developing healthy habits. Remember, beauty must not only be skin deep, you must be beautiful inside and out.
